I haven't done a new journal in roughly five years. I gave up on it since I never knew what to write in them (and I can never figure out a good title to use ;/ ) but I'm trying to use my deviant account more often, so I guess I'll try using this journal more often. I realize there are a lot of unfinished stories in my gallery but trust me, there's a lot more unfinished stuff I haven't posted yet. I have a tendency of going from one idea to the next, one story to the other, so when I get caught up in a new (or sometimes old) story, I leave the one I'm working on in the backburner. I'm trying to remedy that by going back to an old story I came up with about 10 years ago- I even won NaNoWriMo with it a few years back although I'm currently rewriting what I have because 1) ideas have changed over time and what I have now isn't going to work; and 2) NaNo is all about getting to a certain word count every day so alot of what I have written is just awful, and unneccessary. 

I've actually managed to keep up a steady wordcount since I started last week, although some days have gone by without anything being written. I know the advice is to write everyday, even if it's crap, and I agree with that, but some days I just feel like getting away from the story. Give my mind some rest and time for ideas to brainstorm. I know the broad outline of where the story is going and how it's going to end, but there are still details that I haven't locked down yet, and bits of scenes and conversations I'm not sure where I'm going to use, or even if I will. Now that I'm writing it down, I'm beginning to wonder if I'll even be able to stick with it but I'm certainly going to give it a try.

Originally, I planned in participating in NaNoWriMo this year- especially since I haven't done it in a while and, as every November comes by, I always promise myself I'm going to do it this time and key myself up as I try to figure out what I'm going to write for it. When the first day of November came, though, the eagerness was gone and I just didn't feel like writing at all especially with work and some personal problems that dampens the eagerness and willingness to want to write. So I resigned myself to another Novemeber coming and going and a half-hearted promise to try again next year. Anyways, earlier today, I was thinking about another story I had been working on a while back, a bit of sci-fi and fantasy and following different characters with different stories set in the same universe. As I was thinking of one of the characters, bits and pieces of different scenes started playing in my head and for some reason, I just started writing in my computer the first thing that popped into my mind and started going with that. So I guess I am starting NaNoWriMo after all, about 3 days too late and only 1763 words in. This should be fun

It's hard to believe it's been a year already since I first joined deviantart- seriously, where has the time fled? In other news, not much. Still writing but it's still a slippery process- attention wanders constantly, worldbuilding is a pain, plot is always unattainable, just out of reach even though it's there, somewhere in the dreadfully chaotic place I call a mind. Buuut that's nothing new. As always. On the bright side, I have amore coherent picture of my characters and world...on the downside, it's still a long road before I actually get to finish anything :/

It's been forever since I've been here : Times seems to be getting away from me, suspiciously whenever I wanna put up some of my stuff. Hmm. Well, it's finally here. Dunno why I put this one up, of all the recent stories that are forefront in my mind, but here it is. In other news, not much. Taking an online course for the summer, but I keep forgetting I have it so I'm always doing the HW and other stuff at the last minute, lol.

Wow. I've been a guest on deviantART for almost a year now, admiring everyone's artwork, and now I have my own account! I'm not an artist myself , but I love writing. Mostly fantasy, some sci-fi, and a lot of in-between stuff. I'm inspired by a lot of stuff~ mythology (mostly Greek, though I'm trying to broaden my knowledge), music, books, movies, random facts of life, manga/anime, history (especially people in history), whatever weird dreams I end up remembering (and lately, they've been really weird), what-if scenarios, and a whole load of other stuff. And, uh, that's it for the moment. It's kind of late, I have work in the morning...probably not the best time to set up an account, but time and I have always passed each other by without much notice :   I'd say till next time but I've never been very good at keeping a journal of any kind.
